UTK School Of Music
The University of Tennessee School of Music will be hosting a new recruitment and open house invitational for high school students on December 7 2019.
With this event, we aim for students interested in our School to meet our faculty, enjoy our state-of-the-art music building, and get a sense of the excellent training in music that we have to offer.
The B.A. in Music & Culture is a unique undergraduate concentration that encompasses music history, historical musicology, and ethnomusicology. This innovative, interdisciplinary degree is a good choice for students who would like to study music from an academic, liberal arts perspective. We welcome students with strong performance backgrounds to make the most of these pursuits; numerous performance electives and ensembles are available as part of the program. Our courses especially reflect the specializations of our faculty, including aspects of medieval music, gender studies, African diasporic musics, American music, Latin American music, music, world musics, popular musics, music and media, film music, music & disability studies, and music and technoculture.
